SEPTEMBER 12, 2012. After three years of working in the same firm, I finally decided to take a big leap of faith to nowhere and bid my former office goodbye. Above all the confusion leading to the final decision, breaking the news to our senior partner was the hardest. For what this is worth, I am grateful to the firm who took a young inexperienced lawyer in and patiently mentored her all those three years. It was not the easiest decision to make.
But I was not letting the day pass by feeling all sad and puffy-eyed. A double cheeseburger and large pineapple juice for comfort later, I was in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental enjoying some sort of newfound freedom. A friend and officemate, who is also leaving the firm, had a meeting in Tagoloan and urged me to go with her. The
kaladkarin that I am was all too happy to go.
Tagoloan is a small municipality about a thirty-minute drive away from Cagayan de Oro City and home of the Mindanao International Container Terminal. It is a developing community with commercial establishments sprouting along the whole stretch of the National Highway.
I took some pictures to remember that day by:
